A rare Worcester large cup, circa 1760

The cup of large size, probably for drinking chocolate.  It is painted in blue with the ‘Solid Fence Pavilion’ pattern, see Branyan, French & Sandon I.D.10, where they state that apparently the pattern occurs only on this type of large cup and an accompanying saucer.  In the description, it also states that biscuit fragments of cups decorated with the design were found in the factory site excavations, as was one biscuit fragment of the matching saucer.  The Dyson Perrins Museum has an example of the coffee cup.
