A Chaffers Liverpool coffee cup, circa 1760

Painted in underglaze blue and overglaze orange-red enamels with the ‘triffid’ pattern, comprising a rock formation between a fisherman in a boat and a house.  Very unusual bianco-sopra-bianco decoration in the form of petals to the interior base of the cup, which have been hard to photograph – or see!

Condition:  long hairline from rim to base, 3mm chip to inside of rim
