The cup with a double scroll handle, decorated in brown and gilt with swags of husks and intervening droplets in gilt, with paterae between, below a brown line rim with an inner gilt line border – ‘The Davis Festoon’ pattern. The inside base of the cup is painted with a leafy flower in gilt and brown.
This group of corrugated wares were probably made at Tunstall under the management of Anthony Keeling, prior to the move to Shelton, see G.Godden, New Hall Porcelains, 2004, pp.98-107.
