A very rare and extremely large pair of Bow dishes, circa 1765
Of leaf shape with the handles formed as a stalk, the serrated edges painted in pink and the centre with colourful bouquets and sprays of flowers. (Shown with a standard sized Bow coffee cup to give idea of size).
Length: 40.5 cm
Condition: Both dishes broken and professionally restored. Some chips to the rims. Some sanding to the front and rear of both dishes.
Note: There is a similar, slightly smaller, dish in the Victoria and Albert museum, Accession number C.184-1935
