The teapot of hybrid hard paste porcelain with spatula moulding to the lower half and moulding to the spout, decorated with blue and gilt swags to the upper edge, gilded leaf sprays to the collar and a gilt trim to the handle and spout.
Mark: 93 in puce to the base
This teapot has been discussed by Roger Pomfret, where he refers to it as the ‘Enigma’ teapot. The spatula moulding is not typical for New Hall but the handle and knop are recorded on other New Hall pieces, and the pattern number is currently unrecorded by Pat Preller and is consistent with other patterns around this number.
