The teapot of a porcelaneous body, with panels variously decorated with figures and classical urns. The lid with a lion knop. This shape is known in a pottery body which is attributed to Ralph Wood II. It is known that he was experimenting with porcelain production and it is possible that this may be one of his wares. For comparison, the teapot is shown here together with a smaller teapot with an earthenware body and closely similar moulding.
