An unusual cream coloured earthenware plate, circa 1820
With moulded rim, black printed and enamelled with a man aiming a gun at a bee skep, bees flying around, an anxious dog surrounded by bees before him, in a rural scene with trees and buildings in the background.
The caption reads “Damme I’ll have a blow at them better small Birds than none”.
