A rare diminutive Lund’s Bristol pickle dish in the form of a scallop shell, circa 1750-51

Painted in blue with a fence and bamboo, the underside realistically moulded, probably from a real shell. There are a small number of tiny shell-shaped dishes recorded dating from the 1740s and early 1750s, including examples from Limehouse, Lund’s Bristol and Worcester.

Condition: good, no chips, cracks or restoration
